The Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired’s music recital is the most heart warming event I’ve attended. Every performer has a visual impairment and plays a musical instrument to the best of his/her ability. I’m moved to tears watching everyone perform.
Jackson played the chimes to the song Lava You while his music therapist played the ukulele and sang. We spent a few months practicing. Some of the practices went well and, during others, Jackson had no interest in hitting his chimes. So, I was very proud when Jackson hit his chimes several times throughout his performance.
I apologize for the delay in posting the music recital video. I wrote that we had been using the home suction and oxygen in my last post. Jackson had been congested for weeks before the music recital and his congestion turned into a full blown infection that landed us in the hospital the week after his recital. Jackson was in patient due to elevated heart rate and a high white blood cell count. We stayed about 48 hours. He’s doing much better but he still needs a little extra oxygen while he sleeps at night.

Go, Jackson!! 😍
