I recently found out about a great way to support adults with special needs while satisfying your sweet tooth. The Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities Adult Services Division helps adults with varying degrees of mental and physical disabilities. They’ve created a non-profit organization to sell handmade candy bouquets. All of the bouquets are custom made by adults with special needs and the individuals earn a little money from the sale of each candy bouquet. The bouquets are very economical, starting at $5 and I was told they can ship the bouquets if you want to send one as a gift.
You can see pictures of their handiwork here.
The Cincinnati Enquirer wrote this story about the candy bouquets.
I love this. I am definitely ordering and sharing with my coworkers, too.
